Definition: Feng Shui is
Ancient Chinese philosophy, which
believes that the positioning and Clutter is stuck energy that has far-reaching effects in us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The simple act of clearing clutter can transform your life by releasing negative emotions, generating energy, and allowing you to create space in your life for the things you want to achieve. As well, most people would agree that it is more calming to be in a room where everything has order and is pleasingly organized to the eye. When there is less clutter, we have more time, energy and focus for more important spiritual activities. There are four categories of clutter:
You are connected to everything you own by fine strands of energy. When your home is filled with things you love or use well it becomes and incredible source of support and nourishment for you. Clutter on the other hand, drags your energy down, and the longer you keep it, the more it will affect you. When you get rid of everything that has no real meaning or significance for you, you literally feel lighter in body, mind and spirit. Our paradigm is strongly influential in shaping the development of the way we now live and has created our surroundings. When we change our paradigm to incorporate these ideas for clearing our clutter, we feel a tremendous relief. We feel more clear about many things and can easier focus on our spiritual goals. Our life becomes easier and more simplified. We begin to appreciate the things we have and we are no longer on an endless journey of accumulation of material possessions. When we are surrounded only by things we love or really need, we will have a more peaceful energy surrounding our lives. How clutter affects you: Having Clutter Can Make You Feel Tired and Lethargic Having Clutter can Keep You in the Past Having Clutter Can Affect Your Body Weight Having Clutter Can Confuse You Having Clutter Can Affect the Way People Treat You Having Clutter Can Make You Feel Ashamed Things you can do: First begin in a small section of your home. Maybe even a small tabletop or shelf you know would look better if it were more organized. Then continue by deeply reflecting on each of your possessions, doing the clutter test below. The clutter Test
If the answer is not a resounding yes to question 1, and and equally resounding yes to either question 2 or 3, then what is it doing in your life? You can make different boxes and sort your items depending on their destination as follows:
Giving your unwanted or no longer used items to a good will of your choice is a great way to clear your clutter and help others. You can also hold a garage sale or post signs around your neighborhood for larger more expensive items that no longer serve you. Soon you'll get more pleasure from getting rid of old things than buying new things. In this society of "more is better", we have been conditioned into having a insatiable desire for accumulation. That these beautiful possessions are what brings us happiness. And some things really do give us pleasure and happiness.
